Leopold Auer:
Mr. Nice Guy
This likable vintner from Tattendorf is a real
connoisseur, especially where peaceful living
and working are concerned. It’s very impor-
tant for him to work in harmony with nature
in order to create organic wines that bear his
personal signature. Good eating, good wine
and good hiking are Leopold’s hobbies. Wein-
gut Auer is a traditional family winery where
everyone works together during the day. And
in the evening, Helga and Leopold come
together with their large family to drink a glass
of good wine.

Günther Dopler
Mr. Big Heart
His hobbies certainly inspire heart palpitations: skydiving and firefighting. But the heart of Günther Dopler – or “Günschi”,
as he is known – really beats for Pinot Noir. This winemaker from Tattendorf appreciates that, despite the relatively small size of the Thermenregion, there are so many distinctive grape varieties producing a vast array of complex wines. No wonder why his top priority is to leave to his offspring healthy, robust soils in the vineyards. But of course another priority is always to enjoy a good glass of wine.

Johann Gisperg junior:
Networker
“The networking of young winemakers is a real
priority for me,” says Johann Gisperg Jr., who
produces the event series “winebeats”, at Ca-
sino Baden, for showing a more youthful side
of the Thermenregion. This Burgundermacher
is both traditional and innovative at the same
time. “Individuality and the diverse range of
grape varieties are the strengths of the Ther-
menregion,” he says. And he wants to break
more ground with the autochthone grape varie-
ties. Another top priority: a glass of wine and
good discussions with his fellow winemakers.

Heinrich Hartl III.
Gentleman
If you are in Oberwaltersdorf and happen to hear a sonata being played, it's probably Heinrich Hartl sitting at his piano. The passionate winemaker relaxes by reading a good book, listening to classical music and hunting. He also enjoys drinking
a glass of wine with his wife, Marie-Sophie, while having a homemade dinner together. His most beautiful challenges: Pinot Noir, and the Thermenregion as the Austrian wine region with the greatest potential.

Jakob Heggenberger
Junior
“Making wines that are consistently good and
of high quality” is what drives Jakob Heggen-
berger, who’s been junior head of his family’s
winery in Tattendorf – Weingut Heggenberger
– since 2010. He’s also a passionate skier. And
he likes lifting dumbbells in the fitness studio.
And lifting bottles in the cellar even more. But
what this young Burgundermacher likes most
is the fun of working with wine every day.
He appreciates the tradition and complex ter-
roir of the Thermenregion. And on the week-
ends, he enjoys reflecting on the efforts of the
previous days with a nice glass of wine, of course.

Franz Landauer-Gisperg
Dr.Dolittle
Chickens, deer, squirrels – they’re all at home
at the Winzerhof Landauer-Gisperg in Tatten-
dorf. And Franz Landauer loves the
sounds of this animal symphony. For his
purely biologically-focused estate, he has an
ambitious goal: wine production like it was in
the days of antiquity. Large clay amphorae are
buried in the soil – where the wine comes alive
with the authenticity of the region and its ter-
roir. The humorous Burgundermacher loves to
relax with friends while drinking a glass of St.
Laurent.

Alfred Reinisch:
The Huntsman
His free time is spent hunting, playing football and on his motorboat.
Alfred Reinisch Jr., from Tattendorf, lets his wines express the joy and character of the vintage. This ambitious, self-confident winemaker works in the cellar side by side with his father, Alfred Sr. “The most exciting wine region in Austria” is how the Burgundermacher describes the Thermenregion and its diverse range
of soils. And for him, enjoying wine is one of the true pleasures of life. So, of course, he always has the right wine for every occasion at his fingertips.

Georg Schneider
The Model Winemaker
He sets the highest standards for his wines:
elegant, multi-layered, complex and with finesse.
Indeed, Georg Schneider, from Tattendorf,
lives in rhythm with his wines, especially Pinot
Noir. Whether running, travelling or reading
a good book, Georg certainly knows how to
relax. But he is a goal-focused, highly skilled
winemaker, fascinated by the Thermen-
region because of the exciting wines it yields.
He even can be quite philosophical about
his favourite subject – yes, wine – when
enjoying it with a good meal. More high standards!
